Why knowledge exchange matters
Knowledge is social before it is written down
The most useful ideas rarely arrive fully formed on a page. They take shape in conversation — questioned, tested and reframed by people who see the problem differently. For an interdisciplinary field, that exchange isn’t a nice extra; it is how the knowledge gets made at all.
Events, in every size, are simply where that happens on purpose. They turn a scattered set of experts into a community that thinks together.

GSSCSR treats gatherings not as a calendar to fill, but as a living rhythm to sustain.
Continuous, not episodic
Exchange is a steady rhythm, not a once-a-year spike. The small, frequent moments matter most.
Every scale counts
A two-person conversation and a full conference are the same practice at different sizes.
Participation over spectatorship

Long before the first big gathering, a community lives in its everyday conversations — the questions asked between sessions, the reading shared, the introduction that starts a collaboration. This is the heartbeat beneath the headline events, and it is open to every member from day one.
It is also where our community is forming right now: the earliest conversations that will define what the larger gatherings become.

Help shape the programme
Help set the rhythm of a global community
GSSCSR is establishing its future programme of knowledge exchange now. Members can propose conversations, host reading groups, shape symposia and help design the first conferences. We won’t advertise events, speakers or sponsors that don’t yet exist — the invitation is to help create the programme, and to decide the cadence at which a new interdisciplinary community should gather.
